About the RDC

Our Motivation

• sustainable improvement of reserach data infrastructure in the field of higher education research and science studies
• establishment of a diverse data portfolio of the research field with high-quality services in data ingest and data provision
• ensuring the long-term archiving and durable usability of research data through technical measures, documentation and consulting
• enabling national and international use of the data through various quality-assured data accesses and documentation in English
• networking, exchange and cooperation with other research data infrastructure institutions to improve access to research data

Institutions and Cooperations

The Research Data Centre for Higher Education Research and Science Studies (RDC-DZHW), based at the German Centre for Higher Education Research and Science Studies (DZHW), was opened in June 2017. The establishment (2015 to 2017) was funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF). In December 2017 the RDC was accredited by the German Data Forum (RatSWD) and operates according to the criteria of the RatSWDs (German). Since 2019, the RDC-DZHW is a partner of the German Network for Educational Research Data (VerbundFDB).
